Waking Up Gently
In the summer of 2010, I was laid off from work for 13 weeks.  During that time I
spent many hours working on my seedlings.  But one of my most pleasant
experiences was waking up and not being required to be anywhere.  I always
thought I was a lousy "morning person."  Turns out, I was a lovely morning person
as long as I could wake up gently.  I would get up the same time as before, but I'd
have my coffee, read a book, do some gardening, or whatever I wanted!  I was
relaxed, I was happy, and I was pleasant to be around!  Who knew?  So this is my
tribute to that summer and the proof that I could be a morning person.

This flower has pulled out shared genetics from its parents' family tree of heavy
cream and gold.  The bloom is nocturnal meaning that it will start opening the
evening before instead of the morning of and then last through the entire next
day.  The older the blossom gets, the more it fades from a heavy cream to almost
near white with just a wash of gold throat... Gently...
