This flower is named for my Great-great-great Grandmother
Almiena (Kurlvink) Welp. Born in 1842, she and her
husband Henry (Heinrich) Welp moved from Stoopelmoor,
East Friesland, and settled in Lake View, Sac County, Iowa,
where they raised their family and tended their farm.
